Personal Finance Links (Bandwagon Red Sox Fans are Free Now Edition)

Since 2004, I’ve seen fans of Red Sox Nation quintuple in size. Some of the Red Sox fans who suffered through 1967 (and before), 1975, and 1986 – even 2003, have taken some offense to this. As someone who has just suffered from 1986 on (I was ten), I have to say that I love the growth of Red Sox fans. It puts a little hop in my step when I see someone in Silicon Valley with a Red Sox hat on. For all I know they’ve been in love with the Red Sox longer than I. However, for those that hopped on the cool new team, I thought I’d offer you this opportunity to transfer trains. I hear good things about the Tampa Bay train.

This weekend you saw what being a Red Sox fan can be like. In some aspects, you play really well (Red Sox starters that are still with the team gave up 4 runs in 3 games in the series) and come up empty. It’s better to get used to it now, while you can still salvage your September and October.

(And for the rest of you, non-bandwagon Red Sox fans, we’ll get healthy, play the Angels in the first round, and build confidence from there. Beckett and Lester are two of the best in the game and Buchholz had a very good outing. We’ll get a well-rested DiceK and All-Star Wakefield. Bard is still very, very good – despite the unraveling last night… and Papelbon is still one of the best in the game. In short, don’t give up.)

Enough about baseball for now… let’s look at some personal finance links:
