Fox News Backing Off On GOP?
Watching Fox News Bill O’Reilly now and he is making a case for the new majority house to to wiggle out of their “Pledge To America” promises. He even has Dick Morris to help make his case. 1) 100 Billion cut in budget 1st year? 2) Symbolic vote to repeal Health Care Reform? 3) Tea Party mandates too far right to push? 4) Dick Morris pushing yet another book?

Tom William answers:
I predict the republitards will fulfill 5% of their promises.

Maria asks…
Does FOX News fund terrorism?
1) Saudi Prince al-Waleed bin Talal (“the world’s 22nd richest person”) is the second-largest owner of Fox News.
2) Billionaire Prince al-Waleed also funds the Kingdom Foundation.
3) Fox says that the Kingdom Foundation “funds terror groups.”
4) The Prince also funds Imam Rauf, the man behind the Park 51 Muslim community center.

Tom William answers:
Fox news IS terrorism. If it weren’t for the 24 hour fear machine, these violent fools would have no credibility. I mean it takes a lot of spin to characterize a guy lighting his underpants on fire as some sort of criminal mastermind. If it weren’t for Fox news we would recognize these guys for what they really are. Idiots. Of course the war on idiocy doesn’t have quite as much of a ring to it.

Lizzie asks…
Fox News, which overtook CNN ?
Fox News Channel made it five in a row in January — five years atop the ratings rung in the news category for both primetime and total day.
Fox News, which overtook CNN in January 2002, averaged a 1.4 household rating last month, up 8% from 1.3 in the first month of 2006, according to a Disney ABC Networks analysis of Nielsen Media Research data. That was good for a share of fourth place among all basic-cable networks in January. CNN was flat at a 0.7, while MSNBC improved 67% to 0.5.
Last month, Fox News scored a 9% gain with primetime viewers to a 1.62 million average from 1.48 million, more than twice the combined total of CNN (ahead 12% to 813,000) and MSNBC (a 55% jump to 540,000).
With the key news demo, Fox News averaged 389,000 25-54 viewers in primetime during January, a 22% improvement from the prior-year period. CNN (up 29% to 260,000) and MSNBC (45% to 217,000) also recorded big gains. MSNBC officials said that performance helped the network to accrue its greatest share with that demo since November 2001.
Gauged on a total-day basis, Fox News — which will launch late-night show Red Eye, which will examine recent developments in politics, entertainment, business and pop culture, Tuesday at 2 a.m. (EST) — averaged 874,000 viewers (off 3%) in January, while CNN tallied 521,000 (up 13%) and MSNBC 332,000 (up 39%). Among the news demo, Fox grew 11% to 262,000, versus 186,000 for CNN (+28%) and 138,000 for MSNBC (+52%).

Changing public views of CNN perhaps best exemplify these trends. In 1998, 42% of those familiar enough with CNN to rate the network said they believed all or most of what CNN reported, significantly more than for any broadcast or cable news outlet tested. Today, just 28% give CNN the highest believability rating, a share which is statistically indistinguishable from most other television news sources.

Tom William answers:
Fox News fair and balanced, the #’s don’t lie.
The majority of the people on Yahoo will just have to deal with the fact that they do not have the majority of the nation on their side.
And that’s a memo!

Poll: Fox Most Trusted News Source in U.S.?
The Fox News Channel is the most trusted news source in America, according to a new poll released by the BBC and Reuters that surveyed 10,000 news consumers around the world.
Asked which news source they most trusted, 11 percent of Americans named Fox News – more than any other news source in the U.S.
Fox News led the broadcast networks by substantial margins, with ABC coming in at 4 percent, NBC – 4 percent and CBS – 3 percent.
In less crowded news markets, percentages were higher. 32 percent of Britons, for instance, named the the BBC, while 59 percent of Egyptians named Al Jazeera.
The most trusted news networks on a global basis were the BBC, and CNN, the Reuters/BBC poll found.
“National TV is still the most trusted news source by a wide margin, although the Internet is gaining ground among the young,

Tom William answers:
Of course it’s true.
Liberals just hate admitting it because people will stop watching their Left-Wing garbage CNN, ABC, NBC spew out every day.

James asks…
Are Republicans more patriotic because they wave the flag more (especially in the background on Fox News)?
I am doing a paper for class on patriotism and was just wondering. Doesn’t that make them more patriotic….just wear red, white, and blue, salute the President, and threaten to bomb other countries and that’s patriotism, right? Just wave the flag on Memorial Day, Veteran’s Day, and July 4th, and the other 362 days per year not care about the veterans at all, right?

Tom William answers:
People often confuse patriotism with nationalism. A patriot loves their country. Thats the basic definition and what you need to remember is your country is the whole ball of wax. The land, the people, the values that define in this case America. A patriot might be very opposed to actions made in their countries name by government. The government is at best a part of the country but is in no way the whole of the country. The actions of government do not always reflect the will of our people or the character of our values. A patriot might very well burn his flag in protest if he felt his countries values were being trod upon to heavily.
Now a nationalist is another thing altogether. A nationalist loves their government or some part of their government. Often they love a party or an ideological movement or a ethnic group. They seek to enforce the dominance of their group, party, state or nation but they do not love their nation per say. They may actively despise whole parts of their nation and advocate subjugating entire groups. Nationalism is often pro government and they do wave flags but they are not necessarily patriotic. They seek to enforce their values on the nation and reject the nations existing values more often than not.
If a person says I am a republican or a conservative or a liberal or a democrat or any other group first and foremost than they are more nationalist. If they oppose all other groups that’s nationalist.
If they say I am an American first and foremost they are more patriotic. If they believe the other groups are Americans too whether they are right or wrong that’s patriotic. Patriotism is simply love of country and whether you own a flag at all or have one tattooed on your forehead it makes no difference.

William asks…
Who are the expert analysis on ABC, Fox News, CNN, CBS, NBC who criticize the Obama Health Care plan?
paid for by the Insurance Corporations $1.4 millions a day

Tom William answers:
I don’t know there names but I know they have health insurance & are greedy & don’t care about most of the people in this country so who cares. I gave up my health insurance cause I think it is horrible to live in a country where people who work together treat some people the way people who don’t have insurance are treated. I am used to it now but I can tell you those experts could never do what I have done.

Ruth asks…
If liberals believe FOX news is not balanced, do they understand how the right feels about CBS,NBC,ABC & CNN?
Amusing when liberals fume at FOX NEWS for not being balanced. Conservatives have known for years that CBS, NBC, ABC and later CNN have been grossly biased in favor of liberals. Those media outlets corrupted the American political process. While the nation turned right the liberal networks invented issues, manufactured scandals that did nothing to advance public debate or better peoples lives. So let’s see, 4 obviously liberal networks and one that liberals feel is conservative. So what’s the problem? Should those on the right not have a voice in public debate? Or should the other four have a monopoly..censoring the views of more than half the American public? Again, 4 left wing networks and one to the right. Why all the fuming from liberals? Perhaps it’s because your views are regularly rejected at the ballot box and the only thing which sustains failed liberal policies are the 4 biased, left-wing network stations. Think about it. Thanks…

Tom William answers:
The media is only as liberal as the conservative corporation let them be.

Paul asks…
What would happen if every News Station admitted they lied?
1) Obama isn’t really the president. It’s actually some man named Skip James.
2) Obama is actually his bodyguard and Michelle is his secretary.
3) There’s really no recession, it’s all a lie!
4) The BP accident is really an attack from North Korea
5) John Lennon is still alive, and he’s chilling with John Bonham.
Okay, the details are dumb, but what do you think would happen if every news station (CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, CBS, NY1) all admitted they knowingly lied sometimes.

Tom William answers:
All news station do not always tell the truth. They always slant it. Who would ever think a article is all truth. That is what research is for.

Steven asks…
I hate FOX News, what should I do?
I just cannot figure out what to do, I just hate FOX news.

1. Whine
2. Cry
3. Moan
4. complain
5. just change the channel w/ no crying or whining
I’m leaning towards #1 or #2 but not sure, what do you think I should do?

Tom William answers:
You could do 1 – 4 if you want but you wont accomplish anything by them. 5 is the best option.
