Chest acne how to get rid of it?
Severe acne on the breasts, i cannot afford to experiment with the variety of treatments. Are their any cheap or home made remedies that may work?

Tom William answers:
Apply orange peel paste on and around the pimples.
Apply garlic on and around the pimples to remove it without a mark.
Zinc, Vitamin A, Vitamin B and Vitamin E are the best nutrients to cure the acne. So take a balanced diet full of nutrients and vitamins.
Mix lime juice and rose water in equal proportion. Apply it on affected areas and allow it to dry for 10 minutes.
Even after the treatment, acne leaves scars. Excellent home remedies to remove acne scars are listed here. Follow these tips to get rid of the acne scars.
Rub ice cubes on face for 10 minutes to tighten the pores.
Cucumber juice can also be used to tighten the pores. Apply it and allow it to dry for 10 minute

Help with semi-severe acne?
I’ve been suffering with acne since I was 12 & I’m almost 20 now
It was a lot worse when I was younger & has thankfully calmed down over the years but it is still a problem
In the past, I’ve tried ProActiv, creams from the doctor, pads with the salicyclic acid on them, face cleansers, pretty much anything you can think of
My main problem is that I have an overproductive amount of oil in my face
Another problem is I don’t have health insurance so I can’t go to the doctor to get a treatment that I’m not even sure would work
I was looking at some acne kits at the drug store but my mom was worried I would be wasting my money since she knows I’ve tried stuff like that in the past
I’ve looked around online & it seems the only way to really get rid of acne that isn’t just a mild break out is to get some type of costly laser treatment
I have scarring from the worse part of the acne I had a few years ago as well
Like I said, it’s not as bad as it used to be but it still makes me feel really ugly so I would like to try to at least lessen it
Are there any ways I can do that without doctor’s visits?
Thanks

Tom William answers:
If your face is as oily as you say then I would try cleaning it with some rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball (Only costs about $1.00 for the bottle of alcohol at any drug store, and about $2.00 for the bag of cotton balls). I would do this a few times a day to try and dry it out a bit. If you start to get too dry then I would cut back to once a day.
Another thing I would do is wash your face with a plain soap and water (nothing fancy or perfumed). Then I would also take a look at what you are eating. A lot of potato chips and chocolates can make you break out so if you eat that you can try cutting those things out. And believe it or not touching your face often makes acne worse as you have natural oils on your fingers so try not to do that. I don’t bother with any of those acne treatments in stores but I find that the alcohol and sometimes even witch hazel work for me. Good Luck.

Michael asks…
Acne treatment question?
I don’t have really bad acne, at all.
I’ve never gotten acne on my cheeks.
I get red bumps on my chin, red rings around my nostrils (it looks like i constantly have a cold), red bumps between my eyebrows, and pretty bad (not severe) blackheads on my nose.
I’m not sure if it’s really acne that i’m getting, because I can’t pop any of it. When I squeeze them, they don’t expand and nothing comes out, they just get more red.
The red rings around my nostrils itch sometimes, not bad.
I’m a girl. I’m 15.
I don’t directly wash my face, meaning it just gets wet in the shower.
What are some products I can buy to clear up what I have?
I do not wear any makeup, at all.
I do not wear any makeup, at all.

Tom William answers:
Its good you dont directly wash your face, thats what you should do, stay away from touching or washing your face too much. When you put water on your face in the shower, dont let it be too hot either.
Apple Cider Vinegar is the best way to get rid of acne, aside from eating healthy.
The information in this video works for many people, and many of them have left comments as you can see:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbsqZKDlHNQ
Theres a site called earthclinic (you may already know it), but people vote on what worked best for them, and apple cider vinegar has the most votes out of anything

I really wish people knew about this and stayed away from the acne products you buy in the stores. Treating it naturally is better for your skin in the long run and its alot cheaper than all those acne products anyways.
It may be a form of acne rosacea that you have. If thats the case, then google “rosacea forum” and join the most popular forums you find and get tips from other people dealing with it. I have rosacea (not acne rosacea though) and its a life long problem and different things work for different people. For me, just keeping my stress levels down is the only way I’ve found that gets rid of the redness. So make sure you don’t have acne rosacea (look at some pictures in google) because treatment is different for each person when it comes to that.

Sandy asks…
does proactiv treat severe acne?
i have severe acne even, cystic acne. i am wondering how long does proactiv take before i see results? i been using 2 weeks it broke me out worse, i think that’s normal at first then its supposed to start working. what are some other good treatments other than accutane?

Tom William answers:
I hear that it works very well but there is a catch. What they don’t tell you on the commercial is that there are all these extra things you have to do like what not to eat. So it is not as easy as just putting it on and it magically working.

Isotretinoin acne treatment question?
okay i just got home from the dermatoligist like 5 hours ago, and he gave me an antibiotic for acne and cream and other stuff. he told me that if my acne didn’t clear up, he would put me on something called Isotretinoin. he said it has ALOT of side effects and he had to legally give me an ipledge pamphlet about the side effects before i even considered doing it. i flipped through the IPLEDGE book, and common side effects were severe depression, psychosis, jondice, strokes, seizures, chrons disease, permanent thin skin, permanent hair thinning,Erectile dysfunction, etc. etc etc…..
i need to know before i consider taking this, has anyone here taken it? what are the side effects? did you get any? amy i freaking out over nothing? how much does it cost? if you have any of these answers please help thank you soooo much.

CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO STOP MY ACNE??

Tom William answers:
I’ve had several patients tell me that Proactive worked for them, too.
There are daily antibiotic pills you can try, but you would need a doctor’s prescription. (Frankly, I’d try the Proactive first.) Tretinoin is a similar medicine to Accutane, but since it is a cream or gel, it doesn’t have as many side effects. It is kind of expensive (prescription), and I think that Accutane works better for most people, but it may be worth looking into.
I don’t think that the water will help much, frankly, and you can actually drink too much and mess up your body’s electrolytes.
Has the tea tree oil helped? It is supposed to have some good antibacterial properties, but that could be offset by the “oiliness” of it, and I could see it making things worse. You may want to try stopping that, too.
Don’t give up! We are using lasers now that can remove acne scars and leave the skin looking beautiful, and the lasers are getting better every year, so don’t assume they are permanent.
You have a girlfriend; many guys don’t, so you can’t be that bad, eh?

Charles asks…
epiduo acne treatment is giving me scary side effects, what should i do?
I’ve been on epiduo for about two weeks now (my doc also prescribed minocycline and i’ve been experiencing some pretty bad side effects. First of all I noticed I started to have breathing trouble. I couldn’t inhale deep breathes and my throat felt swollen. Second, the lymph nodes at the base of my head are completely swollen. I’m currently experiencing an itchy weird rash randomly across my body and my lower lip is swollen. A few days ago I had flu-like symptoms but that only lasted about 24 hours. I’ve read all the possible side effects and they all seem to fit my situation, but I don’t know if it’s severe enough to go to my doctor. I don’t really have time to go to the doctor anyway, but i’m starting to get concerned. But the thing is, epiduo is working really well against my acne so i don’t want to stop using it.
help?

Tom William answers:
The decision is up to you. If you believe that the acne treatment outweighs to side effects, then by all means continue to use it.
However, I’d advise you to see your doctor and/or stop using epiduo.

CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO STOP MY ACNE??

Tom William answers:
You may require a 2nd course of Accutane. I went on it four times myself, although the maximum number of times is usually three. There is a lifetime limit to the amount of Accutane to which you should be exposed, but your case definitely sounds like you need a 2nd course of the therapy with Accutane, without a doubt. Needing a 2nd course of Accutane is very common with patients who have severe acne.
You may currently be washing your face too much — unless it is exceptionally oily. Continue on the Mederma to prevent scarring, and also ask your dermatologist for a recommendation or a prescription for a product containing sunscreen and prescription-strength hydroquinone — this will reduce the redness and irritation from old acne. In the meantime, go to the drugstore and buy some antiobiotic cream with lidocaine (not ointment) to add to your regimen — the lidocaine will help your face feel better. The antibiotic cream will help reduce inflammation and infection and also help prevent additional scarring. You can also buy some hydrogen peroxide and use it as a toner before applying the other topical treatments; it has antibacterial properties and is non-irritating to the skin.
There is hope: there are many treatments out there now which you have not yet tried: Tazorac gel, Nicomide-T (which can be used in addition to other treatments to reduce irritation/redness), Differin, Benzomycin, Plexion cleanser, Retina-Micro, Sulfacet-R … The list of possibilities is exhaustive. Go back to that doctor who put you on the Accutane and get more or find another who will work with you. Don’t give up — it can get better — and it will with persistence. Life will improve once you get it under control; it just sometimes takes more than one treatment to get it right.
